The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the family.

This results in them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Planners parties.

Audiences can expect discovering which players will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
